AfterDark: For The Culture - Stories, spoken word, and poetry that represents YOU.
Date: Thursday, February 13 Time: 6:30pm event entry, 7pm start Location: Radio Milwaukee, 220 E Pittsburgh Ave Cost: Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Online tickets sales are now closed. Purchase tickets at the Will Call table at 6:30pm while supplies last! “AfterDark: For The Culture” – a night celebrating Black and Brown voices. Come listen to some of Milwaukee’s favorite storytellers or drop your name for a chance to share an original poem or true, personal story on "culture." You can also submit an UltraShort! These are short stories (a few sentences) on the night’s theme that the emcee reads on stage. (They can be anonymous!) "If I'm Being Honest": stories of white lies, too much honesty and hard truths.
Date: Friday, May 16, 2025 Time: 6:00pm doors, 7pm stories. Location: The Cooperage, 822 S Water St, Milwaukee, WI 53204 Cost: $15 advance / $18 at the door if tickets remain. Limited Pay-it-forward tickets available! Advanced ticket sales end May 16 at 2pm CST . Ex Fabula’s annual ALL STARS event features community members who were voted "Audience Favorites" at regular season StorySlams; they’ll return to the stage to share new, 10-minute stories on the evening’s theme, "If I'm Being Honest..." At the end of the night, the audience votes and crowns a Season 16 Audience Favorite. There will also be a few special guest tellers from AfterDark: For the Culture events and from the Deaf Stories Project. This event will have ASL interpretation. -
