    The 5th Annual Deaf Stories Project StorySlam is an evening of true and personal stories told by Deaf community members. Storytellers share stories on the night's theme. This event is free and open to the public! ASL to Spoken English Interpretation provided.

    Date: Friday, November 15 Time: 6:30pm event entry, 7pm start Location: Radio Milwaukee, 220 E Pittsburgh Ave Cost: Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Tickets are available at the door. Online ticket sales end November 15 at 2pm.  “AfterDark: For The Culture” – a night celebrating Black and Brown voices. Come listen to some of Milwaukee’s favorite storytellers or drop your name for a chance to share an original poem or true, personal story on "culture." You can also submit an UltraShort! These are short stories (a few sentences) on the night’s theme that the emcee reads on stage. (They can be anonymous!) Registration will be available at the door.   Ex Fabula StorySlams are live events where community members connect and share true, personal stories related to the night’s theme, told without props or notes. Come just to listen – or throw your name in the hat for a chance to share a true story related to the theme ‘Left No Crumbs’ - Stories of food, cultural delicacies, cooking disasters, mouth-watering meals, and tradition! At the end of the night, the audience votes by secret ballot to choose an Audience Favorite and our secret judges will select a Judges Favorite! There will be opportunities for youth to be a paid storyteller or volunteer, with extra cash prizes for the Audience Favorite and Judges Favorite. The audience can also be a part of the storytelling by submitting UltraShorts! These are “ultra-short” stories on the night’s theme that will be read onstage by the emcee. This event is free, but space is limited, so use the "Add To Cart" button below to reserve your spot. There will be opportunities for youth to be a paid storyteller or volunteer, with extra cash prizes for Audience Favorite and Judges Favorite!
