Ex Fabula invites you to Turner Hall on Saturday, December 17 at 7:30 pm for the second annual Storytelling Spectacular.  The Spectacular is sure to deliver a night of compelling, true stories centered on the theme, “Family Ties.”

If you are unfamiliar with the Spectacular, it is a special, non-competitive event that is carefully curated by the founders of Ex Fabula.  If you have attended an Ex Fabula event, you are aware of the many genuine and gripping stories you may hear.  Each event only allows for one Audience Favorite, so this event gives Ex Fabula the opportunity to celebrate some other amazing storytellers and put them on a large stage at Turner Hall.

While typical regular season events feature five-minute stories, this event allows a handful of storytellers 10 minutes each to share their story about “Family Ties. ” There will also be some stories told in a two-person format, including one Rashomon.  The Rashomon is a format named after Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa’s classic that explores multiple perspectives; two storytellers will tell their versions of the same story. These storytellers will together have fifteen minutes to recount their differing perspectives of the shared event.

Keep an eye on our websitefacebook, and twitter where we will be sharing bios or our esteemed storytellers in the days and weeks to come.  In the meantime, here is a video from last years Spectacular.
