We know you’re sad that Season 5 is over. But don’t despair — you can still get one last story fix at our upcoming “Mea Fabula” event. And bring your stories because this time — it’s all about YOU!
We are pleased to announce “Mea Fabula” on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at the Vogel Mansion. Located at 2221 North Terrace Avenue across from the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum and also known as Greengate, the Mansion is home to Milwaukee entrepreneur and art collector Andy Nunemaker.
This fundraiser, whose name comes from the Latin words for “my story”, will provide attendees with a unique storytelling experience. Milwaukee artists stationed throughout the house will listen to short personal stories from attendees and convert them into songs, poems, watercolors, and brief theatrical pieces. Attendees will be able to observe the artists up close during the creative process. They will also have the opportunity to peruse Mr. Nunemaker’s extensive art collection as they enjoy drinks and hors d’oevres.
Tickets are available for $40; all proceeds will help Ex Fabula expand programming, which includes workshops, StorySlams, and community collaborations, in order to give more Milwaukeeans the chance to be heard, thus building community and strengthening our city. We highly recommend that you purchase advance tickets!
We hope to see you there, fellow storyholics!
