More sunshine and the green that’s brightening the landscape mean one thing: spring is here! Welcome the sunnier season and check out a unique event that is happening this weekend at an urban farm. Join us for a Secret Fabula that offers an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the fabulous and very “green” Milwaukee business, Sugar Bee Farm and the Energy Exchange, at 4121 S. 6th St. on Sunday, May 3rd from 2 to 4 pm. You’ll explore the farm with a guided tour, hear stories, play trivia, and taste freshly prepared mushrooms and greens from this innovative farm.

Sugar Bee Farm mushroom

Sugar Bee Farm cultivates gourmet mushrooms and distributes them throughout the community, from farmer’s markets to local restaurants. This year-round mushroom farm is housed in the Energy Exchange facility, a renovated warehouse featuring green innovations such as a permeable parking lot, irrigated roof, and other water management systems. The farm is part of the Green Corridor; an effort to transform 6th street from Howard to College Avenue into “a living laboratory to demonstrate green technology.”

Get an exclusive look at this exciting farm, and if you haven’t already, get a chance to try their (really tasty looking!) artisanal mushrooms.  Members can purchase $10 advance tickets up until 11 pm May 2nd. You’ll need the secret code from the March 23 Member newsletter to be able to see ticket options (or contact Megan and she’ll help you out). If any seats remain, $15 tickets will be available at the door on the day of the event.

Special for this event! Each member can buy up to 2 tickets – even Level One “Communitas” members, whose memberships do not include guest ticket benefits.

Not yet a member? If you become one, you can join us and get other great benefits – all while supporting Ex Fabula’s community building work.

Don’t miss this behind-the-scenes look at the innovative Sugar Bee Farm and the Energy Exchange! See you Sunday!
