Meet our Ex Fabulous Interns!

Thanks to Milwaukee Recreation’s Arts Internship Program, Ex Fabula is hosting two teen interns this summer. Meet Samone Calmese and Martavious McNeil! Samone and Martavious have joined Ex Fabula’s podcast team to help produce the fourth season of Real Stories MKE, our award-winning radio show & podcast that airs on 89.7 WUWM. Our interns have been involved in all aspects of radio show production, including concept development, scriptwriting, recording, and they are just starting the editing process. At the end of the internship, students will get the chance to fully produce, host, and edit their own episode of Real Stories MKE!

We asked Samone and Martavious to answer some questions about themselves. Learn more about these awesome young people!

Samone Calmese

What five words would you use to describe yourself?

5 words I would use to describe myself would be Smart, Funny, Creative, Outspoken, and Articulate.

What is something you are really passionate about, and why are you passionate about it?

Something That I am really passionate about is writing and poetry I am passionate about writing because no matter what you are writing about your writings always will be a part of you. I am passionate about poetry because poetry is a way for people to express themselves in their authentic art form.

Who is a storyteller, artist, or musician that has inspired you? And why?

An artist that has inspired me is Tupac, the reason being he was always unapologetic and always stood on what he believed no matter who understood and who didn’t.

Where is one of your favorite places in Milwaukee?

My favorite place in Milwaukee is Humboldt Park I say this because I go there often to write and think it’s very relaxing.

Why are you excited to be an Ex Fabula Intern?

I’m excited to be an ex-Fabiola team member because this opportunity allows me to hear other stories and how I could relate to them and different perspectives
